This resource has been created for students to do some research into Matariki and complete some activities.
This has been made to compliment other Matariki resources provided by multiple businesses, websites and organisations.
General questions provided for the students to research and answer include: The names and meanings of the stars, what is Matariki?, what does Matariki mean, why is Matariki important?, when is Matariki celebrated?, what other names is Matariki known by around the world?, and retell the legend/story of Matariki.
The questions are written so they can be typed into Google in order to find the answer.
The booklet provides some activities around planning a get together/party and there is a star craft template also included.
2 booklet options are provided – one with tabs and one without so you can choose which one you would prefer to use. With the booklet with no tabs, you can also choose which pages you would you like to do if you don’t want to do all 10. J
